Apple Watch Series 9
All-round smartwatch
Newer model available: Apple Watch Series 11 (since September 2025). This review covers the previous model.
The best all-rounder — workouts, notifications, sleep, ECG — no subscription. Battery and depth-of-recovery data are the compromises.

Who it's for
Buy it if…
You want one device for training, daily life, and health basics.
Skip it if…
You want multi-day battery or specialist recovery depth.
The Series 9 is the safe, do-everything pick: excellent workout tracking, ECG, notifications, and the deepest app ecosystem — with no subscription. For most readers it’s the path of least regret.
It loses ground only where the specialists win: battery life and the depth of recovery analytics, which is why Coach fit trails the dedicated recovery devices.
Note: Apple has discontinued the Series 9. The current model is the Apple Watch Series 11 — and because new Series 9 stock is now limited (and often sold refurbished by third parties), our deal button points to the current, new, Apple-sold Apple Watch.
