2. Hosting & server logs

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, the host processes technically necessary access data (e.g. IP address, date/time, requested file, browser/device data) to deliver the site and ensure its security and stability. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, efficient operation). Data may be transferred to the USA.

3. Newsletter (Sqwod Daily)

When you subscribe to the newsletter we process your email address and, as proof of consent, the time and IP address of your sign-up (double opt-in). The sign-up is processed via a Cloudflare Worker (Cloudflare, Inc., USA); to manage the recipient list and send the emails we use Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) and/or beehiiv (beehiiv, Inc., USA). Legal basis: your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email, withdrawing your consent. These providers process the data on our behalf; a transfer to the USA takes place.

4. Embedded content (CDN)

On individual product pages (Sqwod Verified), the JavaScript library “three.js” is loaded from the cdnjs CDN (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) for the 3D product viewer. This transmits your IP address to Cloudflare. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functional presentation).

5. Contact & forms

If you contact us by email or submit a form (e.g. the press-release submission), we process the data you provide in order to handle your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. The data is deleted once it is no longer needed for that purpose.

6. Analytics (Umami)

To measure site usage we run the open-source software Umami on a self-hosted instance. Umami sets no cookies, builds no cross-site profiles, and stores no full IP addresses; it records aggregated usage data (e.g. pages viewed, referrer, browser/device type, and triggered events such as clicks on "share" or "subscribe"). Our Umami instance is hosted at Railway (Railway Corp., USA); when the measurement script loads, your IP address is technically transmitted to that server. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in privacy-preserving audience measurement). We use no third-party advertising or tracking tools.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent at any time with future effect. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details above.

8. Right to complain

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) — the competent authority is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
