Vivobarefoot Primus Lite IV
Training apparel

Pros
- Outstanding ground feel: OutdoorGearLab rates ground feedback 9.3/10
- Lighter than the III (about 2 oz per pair) with the same wide, foot-shaped toe box
- Cheaper in Germany than the III was at our last check, from about €97
Cons
- Durability scored only 5.0 and 6.8/10 in OutdoorGearLab's two tests
- Little protection and weak grip on loose, wet or trail surfaces, plus the usual barefoot adaptation period

The Primus Lite IV is Vivobarefoot’s best-selling training shoe, re-engineered for smarter material use and less production waste. The sole is still thin, flexible and zero-drop, and the toe box is still wide enough to let your toes splay. OutdoorGearLab scored the men’s version 81/100 and named it Best Barefoot Shoe for Sensitivity; the women’s version scored 74/100.
Both tests flag the same weak spots: limited protection, middling traction and lower durability scores than the III earned in our earlier review. Crowd data is still thin, so treat this score as provisional. German retailers list it from about €97.
Compared with the Primus Lite III, the IV is lighter with a reworked recycled upper and the same ground feel, but early durability reports are weaker.
