On Cloudmonster 3

Who it's for
Buy it if…
You coach neutral runners who like a firm, rockered max-stack trainer and want On's build quality for easy and long miles.
Skip it if…
You want soft cushioning, a light tempo shoe or the best value: lighter, bouncier daily trainers cost less.
The Cloudmonster 3 keeps what defines the line: a high stack, a firm ride and a pronounced rocker, now with a three-layer CloudTec midsole and a more structured upper. RTINGS found the midsole absorbs impact better than version 2, and the padded tongue reduces lace bite. RunRepeat scores it 82/100.
It is still heavy at around 295-301 g, energy return is below average, and RunRepeat’s durometer puts the Helion foam among the firmest it has tested. The toe box is also narrower than before. The RRP is €200, and On’s German store had two colours at €140 when we checked.
Compared with the Cloudmonster 2, the 3 fits more securely and absorbs impact a little better, but it is no lighter and its toe box is narrower.
