Eight Sleep Pod 4 vs Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light HF3650 (formerly Somneo)
Our pick: Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light HF3650 (formerly Somneo) takes it — 81 vs 79.
Both are strong — the call comes down to what you prioritise:
- Eight Sleep Pod 4 — You treat sleep as a performance lever and will pay for the best temperature control.
- Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light HF3650 (formerly Somneo) — Buy it if you struggle with dark winter mornings and want a proven, gentle light-based wake-up with wind-down and sunset features, and you don't mind paying a premium.
Eight Sleep Pod 4
The most effective sleep-temperature system you can buy — dual-zone heating/cooling that genuinely improves sleep. The price and mandatory subscription are real.
Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light HF3650 (formerly Somneo)
The Somneo HF3650 is Philips' flagship sunrise-simulation alarm and one of the best-regarded wake-up lights on the German market, with a smooth 30-minute light ramp, RelaxBreathe wind-down and a sunset function. It wakes you gently and reliably, but it is pricey and the built-in speaker is mediocre.
